This book challenges how to express the "dynamic changes" in business models. Taking into account the significant changes in the social and industrial environment since the previous work, it selects 50+ notable domestic and international company cases from the perspective of "co-creation" and "adaptability" as new axes, illustrating how they co-created with various entities and adapted to the times.
From the time of their founding to their past, present, and future evolutionary forms, each case is presented with two diagrams and an explanation, delving deeply into "why" the business model changed and "how" it adapted.

Seven years have passed since the publication of the previous work, "Business Model 2.0 Encyclopedia," in 2018, and the external environment surrounding business has changed significantly.
・Accelerated technological evolution, such as generative AI
・Changes in social structure and lifestyles due to pandemics and disasters
・Unpredictable changes in geopolitical risks and the macro external environment
・Increase in complex social issues that cannot be solved by a single organization
Given this historical background, this book introduces the concept of "Business Model 3.0" by setting "co-creation" and "adaptability" as new axes.

From Business Model 1.0, which focused solely on making a profit, the previous work "Business Model 2.0 Encyclopedia" defined "Business Model 2.0" as a business model that possesses not only economic value but also social and creative value. Building on this, this work further defines "Business Model 3.0" by adding "co-creation" and "adaptability" to these three elements.

"Co-creation" signifies a shift from an era where companies provided value independently to one where they co-create value with stakeholders. "Adaptability" indicates a change to an era where the ability to continuously transform oneself in the face of rapid change is demanded, rather than preparing solutions by predicting the future. This book introduces 50 cases of business models that possess these two qualities.

While the previous work viewed business models as "static" at a certain point in time, this book is an encyclopedia that focuses on the evolving "dynamic" structure.

While the Business Model 2.0 Encyclopedia presented 100 cases on two pages each, this book narrows the number of cases to 50, doubling the page count per case to four. This allows for a deeper presentation of information, enabling readers to follow the story of a business model's evolution.

Each case is structured across four pages, with a "before" diagram on page 1 and an "after" diagram on page 4. By comparing these two BEFORE/AFTER views, readers can track the evolution of the business model.
