The Purpose Model Toolkit is a collection of tools for editing Purpose Models. There are three types, and this product is a slide type.

Product Overview

The Purpose Model Toolkit is a tool that makes it easier to edit the Purpose Model. The Purpose Model is a framework developed by Zukai Institute, Inc. and Yurie Kibi for visualizing co-creation. This framework, which visualizes who is involved in a project, for what purpose, and in what role, was introduced in the book "Purpose Model: How to Create Co-creation that Involves People," (published in Japanese) released on August 10, 2022, and has been utilized by many organizations.


The Purpose Model Toolkit is divided into the following three types.
1. Sheet type (Excel version)
2. Web tool type (PURPOSE MODEL STUDIO)
3. Slide type (Keynote version/PowerPoint version)
The one introduced on this page is the slide type.

1 is a sheet type that can be edited in Excel. If you upload it to Google Spreadsheets, it will be more convenient for collaborative editing.

2 is a web tool type that allows for more intuitive editing, and allows editing close to the final form.

3 is a slide type that can be edited with Keynote or PowerPoint. It is recommended when you want to make a clean copy.

Each tool has its own characteristics. The table above summarizes the characteristics of the three tools in the Purpose Model Toolkit.

The sheet type cannot export diagrams by itself, and the web tool type cannot save data by itself, so we recommend that you basically use a combination of sheet type and web tool type.

The slide type has many elements and is difficult to operate, so it is suitable for those who want to fine-tune the layout and create a neat and clean copy. All the illustrations in the book "Purpose Model" were created using this sheet type.

The slide type consists of 50 slides in total. Slides 1 to 5 are explanations. Slides 6 and onwards are the slides you can actually use.

What this means is that the slides after the number 1 are slides where the upper and lower halves are divided into 1 section. For example, the slides after the number 5 are slides where the upper and lower halves are divided into 5 sections. This division goes up to 9 sections. In other words, these slides are intended to use as parts to complete the purpose model.

How to use the slide version

1. Determine the number of stakeholders in the purpose model

2. Find the slide that matches with the determined number

3. Change the color (or copy and paste the color from the slide)

This is how you create a purpose model. By using the slide version, you can adjust the layout of the text in detail while you create it, so it is recommended for those who want to make fine adjustments. However, unlike files such as Illustrator, it does not have a layer structure, so it might take time to select each objects one by one. (All the diagrams published in the purpose model book were created using this slide).

Originally, there were only sheet type and slide types, and since it was not possible to visualize the purpose model as a diagram with the sheet type, using the slide type was the only way to clean up the diagram. However, with the launch of the new web tool "PURPOSE MODEL STUDIO," it has become possible to even visualize the diagram, and diagrams can now be created almost without using the slide type, so most people no longer need to use the slides.



At present, the most recommended way to use it is to save data using the sheet type and then visualize it using the web tool "PURPOSE MODEL STUDIO."

However, only the slide type allows you to adjust the layout in detail, such as the line spacing and size of text, so the slide type is recommended for those who want to make adjustments.

Thank you for your interest in the Purpose Model Toolkit (slide type). This slide type is the one we've been using since the beginning to edit the Purpose Model.

All of the purpose model illustrations in the book "Purpose Model" were created using this slide type. However, if you are not familiar with using PowerPoint or Keynote, it can take time to operate, so we currently recommend using the sheet type and web tool type. However, detailed layouts can only be done with this slide type, so if you need to clean up your diagrams, please purchase this version.
