ABOUT
What is Illustrated Shop?
The Illustrated Store is an online shop selling illustrations (data, templates, toolkits, etc.) from Zukai Soken. It is a place that integrates fragmented information into something valuable, structures it, visualizes it through illustrations, and sells the illustrations themselves. In doing so, it aims to increase the value of the illustration technique itself, dismantle social opaqueness and complexity, and "bring people and society closer together."
WHY?
Why sell illustrations?
At Zukai Soken, we have created various diagrams over the years.
- "Business Model Diagram" - a framework for diagramming business models
- "Map of Accounting" - a framework for grasping the overall picture of accounting
- "Purpose Model" - a framework for visualizing co-creation
And so on. We have continued to make these freely available. In particular, for books such as "Business Model 2.0 Encyclopedia" and "Map of Accounting," we have continued to make the entire content freely available indefinitely even after publication. We believe this is quite unusual.
We are often asked, "How do you monetize this?" To be honest, while we created the book "Business Model Diagram," we were indifferent to our own business model and relied on highly variable revenue streams like commissioned work and royalties. The foundation for sustaining our activities was never truly solid.
Zukai Soken aims to reduce the communication costs for society as a whole by structuring and visualizing various complex phenomena. To continuously achieve our purpose of "bringing people and society closer through diagrams," we, who prioritize diagrams, believe that we ourselves must value diagrams, sell diagrams, and make our activities sustainable.
Will you actually sell?
Will illustrations actually sell?
Diagrams are basically digital data. Many are freely available, making them easy to duplicate, so honestly, we're not sure if selling the diagrams themselves is a viable business model.
However, as the Diagram Soken team, whose profession is creating diagrams, we also wonder who else would take on this challenge if we didn't.
Until now, due to system limitations, there were some inconveniences for Japanese users, such as "dollar-denominated payments" and "entering addresses in English." However, we have now updated our system to make it easier for more people to use smoothly, allowing for simple purchases in Japanese Yen (JPY) and with Japanese address input.
We offer diagrams such as "Strategy Map" and "Bizgram Toolkit" to shorten your practical work time and organize your thoughts. We also support multi-currency payments as a stepping stone to working globally.
Those of you who have read this far are already practically on board with Diagram Soken. We would be delighted if you would join us in this challenge, support us with a purchase, or discreetly whisper to your friends, "They're selling diagrams like these!"
Now, please enjoy the new Diagram Shop.
