Full text of new book "Business Models 3.0" released before publication

 

 

The latest book in the "Business Model 2.0 Encyclopedia" series, which has sold over 130,000 copies domestically and internationally, "Business Model 3.0 Encyclopedia" will be released on January 26, 2026.

 

Ahead of its release, the entire text has been made available today for free and indefinitely. It will be published on Zukai Soken's official note, accessible to all pages without requiring membership registration.

About "Business Model 3.0 Encyclopedia"

 

This book challenges how to express the "dynamic changes" in business models. Taking into account the significant changes in the social and industrial environment since the previous work, it introduces 50 notable case studies from Japan and abroad, focusing on "co-creativity" and "adaptability" as new axes, and from the perspective of how various entities have co-created and adapted to the times.


From its inception and past to its present and future evolutionary forms, the business model is deeply explored with two diagrams + commentary, examining "why it changed" and "how it adapted."


What is "Business Model 3.0"? 

 

Seven years have passed since the publication of the previous work, "Business Model 2.0 Encyclopedia," in 2018, and the external environment surrounding business has changed significantly.

 

・Accelerated technological evolution, such as generative AI

・Changes in social structure and lifestyles due to pandemics and disasters

・Unpredictable changes in geopolitical risks and the macro external environment

・Increase in complex social issues that cannot be solved by a single organization

From Business Model 1.0, which focused solely on making a profit, the previous work, "Business Model 2.0 Encyclopedia," defined "Business Model 2.0" as a business model that possesses not only economic viability but also social and creative aspects. Furthermore, this work defines "Business Model 3.0" by adding "co-creativity" and "adaptability" to these three.
