We gave a lecture in the "Business Model Theory" course held by the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Shibaura Institute of Technology.
The course runs across seven sessions on alternate Saturdays, and we were given one of those slots for our talk.
Around 60 people attended, and we received feedback after the class.
Thank you for the invitation!
[Selected feedback from participants]
- Not only was I able to deepen my understanding of business, but I also learned a great deal about design that conveys information to people in a clear, easy-to-read way.
- Through today's lecture I was able to visualize the overall picture of a business and learned techniques for deciding what value to create first. In particular, the approach of organizing things into four categories and thinking in a paradoxical way felt applicable not only to business but also to my own life.
- I discovered that rather than just summarizing content neatly, it is important to incorporate into a diagram what you clearly want to convey to the other person, and I feel my understanding of diagrams has deepened.
In this course, on the premise of applying to the Shibaura Business Model Competition (SBMC), students learn a process of generating ideas based on (1) lectures and (2) guest-speaker talks, and then (3) turning those ideas into business models through group work.
