Charlie
Tetsuro Kondo
Representative Director, ZUKAI
Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo University of Science; completed a master’s program in Architecture and Urban Science at the Graduate School of Engineering, Chiba University. Worked as a director at the “fun-focused” company Kayac before going independent. In 2018, “Business Model 2.0 Toshokan” became a bestseller with 100,000 copies, and in 2020 he founded the visual think tank ZUKAI. Together with major companies, research institutions, and governments, he works on diagrams that visualize complex social information such as environmental issues, policy, and co-creation. Co-author of “Accounting Map,” “Purpose Model,” “How to Make Diagrams that Reveal How Business Works,” and “Policy Model.”

Kyon
Makoto Okiyama
Director & CPO, ZUKAI
Born in 1995. Graduated from the Department of Accounting, School of Business Administration, Meiji University. After working at a management consulting firm, he became a freelancer and now holds his current role. His explanatory note articles that diagram business and liberal-arts books became popular, with over 30,000 followers. He works on researching and sharing—internally and externally—ZUKAI’s vision of the society it aims for and its reason for being. He also hosts “Booked,” a book club you can join without reading the book, which is offered to major companies and educational institutions. Co-author of “How to Make Diagrams that Reveal How Business Works” and “Accounting Map.”

Imamu
Maho Imamura
Researcher / Consultant, ZUKAI
Graduated from the Department of Clothing, Faculty of Home Economics, Kyoritsu Women’s University, and completed a master’s program in Architecture at the same university’s Graduate School of Home Economics. Worked as an art director at CRAZY, Inc., then as a design consultant, before going independent. Through her work centered on social business, she developed a desire to solve social issues by making them enjoyable and personal. Believing that real-world experiences nurture people’s imagination, she values beautiful, comfortable experience design.

Shiorin
Shiori Takemura
Researcher / Back Office, ZUKAI
Born in 1994 in Saitama. She joined an urban-development company as a new graduate, working in sales administration and new-graduate recruiting. She then worked at three startups tackling various social issues toward a better society, gaining experience in HR, PR, and customer support before joining ZUKAI. She also works as a freelance writer.

Uka
Naoko Ukai
Researcher / Consultant, ZUKAI
Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Kobe University, and completed a master’s program in Architecture at the same university’s Graduate School of Engineering, studying urban development and disaster recovery. As an architect at Kansai International Airport, she was involved in a large-scale terminal renovation project from basic planning through construction start. She joined ZUKAI to pursue ways of building businesses that balance economic and social value. She spent her early childhood in the United States and English is her strength. She has played soccer and futsal for 24 years.

Gen
Gen Nakamori
Researcher / Designer, ZUKAI
Born in Tokyo in 1991. Graduated from the Department of Information Design, Tama Art University. He mainly works on on-screen design, analog game production, and music production, and is passionate about designing digital tools that people use, such as apps and services. His main works include ZUKAI’s “Bizgram” and “PURPOSE MODEL STUDIO,” as well as “J-POP Karuta Karuuta,” “Machi no Coin,” and “Tonamel.”

Tomohiro Tasaki
National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES)
