On August 29, 2025, our CEO Tetsuro Kondo spoke as a guest at an online talk event hosted by the certified nonprofit PIECES, titled "The Invisible Value That Builds the Soil of Society: Talking with Diverse Guests about the Potential of Communities, Places and Organizations" (社会の土壌をつくる、見えない価値 ―多様なゲストと語る、地域・場・組織の可能性―).

About PIECES and the event

PIECES is a certified nonprofit in Japan that works to foster each person's "citizenship," aiming for "a society where children are not isolated." Its work includes the "Machinoma" project in Tama City, Tokyo, as well as lectures and training.

The event was a three-night series in which guests and participants talked about the invisible value that communities, places and organizations create. It was held on Zoom on the evenings of August 25, 27 and 29.

  • Night 1 (August 25): Community building where a "Home" comes into being
  • Night 2 (August 27): The power a "place" has, and the scenes that grow out of a "place"
  • Night 3 (August 29): Survival strategies for organizations that are "hard to understand"

Kondo spoke on the third night.

The theme of the third night

The third night looked at the topic through "organizations." The event page lists these three questions.

  • Is being "hard to understand" a bad thing?
  • The dilemma between solving problems and creating value
  • How to build an organization that coexists with complexity and ambiguity
