Our CEO, Tetsuro Kondo, will teach one session of "Theory of Architectural Design III" (Kenchiku Sekkei Riron Dai-san), a course for third-year students, as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, the University of Tokyo. In the 2026 academic year, the lecture is planned for the term that runs from December to January (the A2 term).
About the course
"Theory of Architectural Design III" is taken by third-year students in the Department of Architecture. Specialists from fields outside architecture that relate to architectural design each give one lecture. Past speakers have come from fields such as community design, real estate and media.
What Kondo will talk about
Kondo will speak from a business perspective. He plans to cover how the business models of various enterprises work, and how money flows through them.
Whether you are designing a commercial facility, an office or a public building, understanding the economics of the activity that takes place in the building widens the view from which you think about the design. Kondo himself majored in architecture at university and graduate school. His experience as a student of wanting to know more about how businesses work is the reason he chose this topic.
