The Yamato Regional Issue Design Map. Issues in the Yamato region, centred on Nara Prefecture, are placed in three areas: health capital (medical care, nursing care, health), cultural capital (education, crafts, cultural assets, tourism) and natural capital (agriculture, forestry, fisheries), and linked by arrows that show cause and effect. They include a shortage of home medical care, a lack of care workers, young workers leaving the prefecture, low spending by tourists and a growing area of unmanaged forest.

About This Project

This issue design map visualises the issues of the Yamato region, centred on Nara Prefecture, together with their causal relationships. It was created by the Yamato Social Impact Investment Limited Partnership (Yamato Social Impact Fund), an impact fund that aims to solve the region's issues. ZUKAI contributed to its creation.

Health capital covers medical care, nursing care and health; cultural capital covers education, crafts, cultural assets, tourism and sport; natural capital covers agriculture, forestry and fisheries. On one sheet you can see where issues such as a shortage of home medical care, a lack of care workers, young workers leaving the prefecture, low spending by tourists and a growing area of unmanaged forest come from, and what they lead to.

The fund uses the map as its first tool for deciding which issues an investee will solve. The Yamato Social Impact Acceleration Program, which began in February 2024, also targets the issues in the three capitals defined by the map.

The map is published in the fund's Impact Report 2023 (January 2024, in Japanese).
