HATARABA is a brokerage that helps companies move offices. In this note series it visits the offices of companies it has helped and interviews them. The ZUKAI installment is the 144th. Our CEO, Tetsuro Kondo, and the team member who handled the move answered the questions.

What the article covers

  • Why we set up an office: we used to work mostly online. As in-person work and visits increased, we needed a place for the team to meet. Making diagrams also goes better when we discuss while writing on a whiteboard
  • How we chose the location: ZUKAI's work began with publishing books, so we looked near Jimbocho, Tokyo's book district
  • What decided it: the whole building had been renovated, and the chairs we had been considering came with the office
  • After moving in: good transport access and many restaurants nearby
  • What we want to do next: display the books we have published and the articles that have covered us. We also installed original bookshelves made of local timber from Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture, designed to work as partitions too

The book mentioned in the article as being in production was later released in January 2026 as "Business Model 3.0 Visual Guide". Its predecessor is "Business Model 2.0 Visual Guide".
